Wizz Air is adding a new winter sun route from Gdansk, with direct flights to Agadir in Morocco set to begin in the winter season. The service will be the first regular air link ever between Gdansk and Morocco.

The low-cost carrier says the new route expands its leisure network from Gdansk and gives travellers another option for a warm-weather break during the colder months.

Agadir is one of Morocco’s main coastal resorts and is known for its beaches, mild winter climate and access to the country’s Atlantic coast. The route is expected to appeal to passengers looking for a short-haul sunshine destination from northern Poland.

The launch marks another step in Wizz Air’s growth at Gdansk Airport, where the airline continues to add point-to-point routes aimed at holiday and city-break travellers. For the airport, the service opens a new market and gives local passengers direct access to North Africa without a connecting flight.

Gdansk Airport has been steadily expanding its route network in recent years as airlines look to capture demand for both seasonal leisure travel and year-round European connections. A direct link to Agadir now puts Morocco on the departure board for the first time in the airport’s history.
