Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled a special Airbus A330 aircraft livery celebrating its membership in the oneworld alliance, combining the alliance’s branding with a tribute to Hawaiian language and culture.
The newly painted widebody aircraft features the iconic oneworld logo alongside Hawaiian Airlines’ signature Pualani tail design and the airline’s distinctive maile lei wrapping around the fuselage. Prominently displayed on the aircraft is the Hawaiian phrase “Aloha a puni ka honua,” meaning “Aloha all around the world,” reflecting both the carrier’s global reach through the alliance and its commitment to sharing Hawaiian hospitality with travelers worldwide.
The aircraft was officially unveiled during a ceremony at Hawaiian Airlines’ Charles I. Elliott Maintenance and Cargo Facility in Honolulu.
Alisa Onishi, Managing Director of HawaiÊ»i Marketing at Hawaiian Airlines, said the aircraft symbolizes the airline’s role within the global alliance while showcasing the importance of preserving Hawaiian culture through language. She noted that displaying ʻŌlelo HawaiÊ»i on the aircraft allows the airline to share the voice and heritage of HawaiÊ»i wherever it operates.
As part of the unveiling celebration, Hawaiian Airlines donated US$10,000 each to the ʻIolani Palace and the Polynesian Voyaging Society, two long-standing community partners dedicated to preserving Hawaiian history, culture, and traditions.
Joining the oneworld alliance marks the 96-year-old carrier’s first participation in a major global airline alliance. Membership significantly expands travel options for Hawaiian Airlines passengers by providing seamless connections across nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries served by the alliance’s 15 other member airlines.
Passengers enrolled in Atmos Rewards, the combined loyalty program of Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines, including the Huakaʻi by Hawaiian program for Hawaiʻi residents, can earn and redeem points across the oneworld network while enjoying reciprocal elite status benefits. Likewise, members of other oneworld airline loyalty programs can earn and redeem rewards and receive eligible elite benefits when flying with Hawaiian Airlines.
The new livery represents both Hawaiian Airlines’ expanding international presence and its continued commitment to celebrating Hawaiian identity, ensuring that the spirit of aloha remains central to the airline as it connects HawaiÊ»i with destinations around the world.
