Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Unveils Massive $100 Million Luxury Reimagining

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has officially unveiled one of the largest luxury hotel transformations in the Canadian Rockies after completing a property-wide redevelopment valued at approximately CAD $100 million.

The extensive investment marks more than simply a renovation. The reopening introduces a redesigned version of one of Canada’s most iconic mountain resorts as luxury hospitality operators increasingly invest in nature-focused experiences and wellness-driven travel.

Located within 700 acres of wilderness inside Jasper National Park, the resort is positioning itself around privacy, slower travel experiences and deeper connections with nature.

More Than 330 Rooms Redesigned Across Historic Resort

The redevelopment includes substantial upgrades across more than 330 of the property’s 397 guest rooms, suites and signature cabins.

Accommodations were redesigned to emphasize space, privacy and stronger connections with the surrounding landscape through alpine-inspired interiors, natural materials and locally influenced design elements.

The project also included a complete redesign of the Main Lodge and arrival experience, creating new public spaces overlooking Lac Beauvert and surrounding mountain scenery.

Historic signature cabins including Outlook Cabin and Point Cabin remain central to the property’s offering, particularly for multi-generational travel and larger private stays.

New Restaurants And Wellness Experiences Expand Luxury Offering

The reopening introduces three new signature dining concepts designed around local ingredients, seasonal menus and regional storytelling.

Lume replaces the former Emerald Lounge with a garden-focused dining concept inspired by Jasper’s changing light conditions, while Elderwood transforms the Great Hall into a timber-focused restaurant centered around seasonal dishes.

The third concept, Barbicon, introduces a modern mountain steakhouse experience built around aging techniques, preservation methods and fire-based cooking.

Wellness has also become a larger focus following the renovation, with new experiences including glacial plunge rituals, sauna programs and outdoor wellness activities integrated directly into the landscape.

Owner Commits Billions To Canadian Hospitality Investments

The investment also reflects broader confidence in Canada’s premium hospitality sector.

Property owner Oxford Properties says it has committed more than CAD $2 billion to Canadian investments since 2025.

Beyond accommodation upgrades, the resort has expanded family experiences, introduced new adventure facilities and restored its historic golf course originally designed by Stanley Thompson.

With stronger emphasis on wellness, outdoor experiences, culinary programming and year-round tourism, the reopening positions Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to compete more aggressively within the rapidly growing luxury nature travel market.
