Formula 1 has secured the long-term future of the Las Vegas Grand Prix after confirming a new agreement extending the race until 2037, strengthening the sport’s growing presence in the United States and cementing Las Vegas as one of Formula 1’s flagship destinations.
The new deal adds another decade to the event’s future after organizers, local authorities and tourism officials agreed to continue investing in what has rapidly become one of the sport’s most commercially important races.
The announcement follows strong economic performance and continued global demand for the Las Vegas race since its debut.
Las Vegas Grand Prix Generated $3.2 Billion In Economic Impact
Since joining the Formula 1 calendar in 2023, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has generated approximately $3.2 billion in cumulative economic impact for Southern Nevada.
All three races staged between 2023 and 2025 sold out, helping establish Las Vegas among Formula 1’s highest-profile destinations.
In 2025 alone, the event generated approximately $43 million in local and state tax revenue.
Officials say around $15 million from that revenue was directed toward supporting K-12 education programs across Nevada.
Las Vegas Becomes Core Part Of Formula 1’s American Strategy
The extension reinforces Formula 1’s aggressive expansion strategy within the United States, where the sport has significantly increased investment and audience growth over recent years.
The race takes place on the 6.2-kilometer Las Vegas Strip Circuit where drivers exceed speeds of 322 kilometers per hour while racing past some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
The circuit’s combination of racing, entertainment, hospitality and celebrity culture has helped create one of Formula 1’s most commercially valuable weekends.
Executives increasingly view Las Vegas as more than a race destination and instead as a broader entertainment platform.
Event Expands Beyond Racing Into Tourism And Community Investment
Beyond racing itself, organizers have expanded investment through projects including Grand Prix Plaza, a 39-acre multi-use attraction that serves as a year-round Formula 1 destination.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation has also contributed more than $2 million toward nonprofit organizations and educational initiatives supporting local communities.
On track, the race has already produced memorable sporting moments, with Max Verstappen winning twice since the event launched and George Russell securing victory in 2024.
With the race now secured through 2037, Las Vegas appears set to remain one of Formula 1’s most important destinations as the sport continues pursuing long-term growth in North America.
