Poznan Launches New 187-Seat Charter to Egypt

Poznan airport has launched a new charter service to Egypt, with 187 passengers flying on Friday morning from Poznan- Lawica to Al Alamajn on the country’s north coast. The route adds a direct leisure link from western Poland to the Red Sea region and the Mediterranean holiday market in northern Egypt.

The inaugural flight marks the start of a new seasonal option for travellers seeking package holidays and beach breaks. The service gives passengers in Poznan and the surrounding region a direct connection without the need to route through another hub.

Egypt remains one of the most popular destinations for European sunseekers, and charter operators continue to expand access to the country’s resort areas. The new Poznan service is expected to support demand from travellers looking for short-haul winter and shoulder-season escapes.

Port Lotniczy Poznan-Lawica said the launch opened up northern Egypt directly from Poznan. The airport described the flight as a new charter connection, highlighting the ease it offers for holidaymakers travelling from the city and nearby areas.

Charter services are a regular feature of the Polish travel market, especially during periods of strong demand for package holidays. They allow tour operators to offer direct routes to destinations that may not have scheduled year-round links from regional airports.

For Poznan airport, the new route adds to its leisure portfolio and strengthens its links with outbound tourism. For passengers, the main appeal is convenience: one flight, one departure point and direct access to a beach destination in Egypt.

The launch also reflects wider demand for Mediterranean and North African holiday destinations among Polish travellers. Airports across the country have been expanding charter options as operators look to attract passengers from regional catchment areas.

With 187 people on the first departure, the service began with a full aircraft and clear signs of demand. If bookings remain strong, the route could become a regular part of the airport’s seasonal travel schedule.
