Red Sea Global Opens Miraval Resort Ahead Of Eid Travel Surge

Red Sea Global Expands Luxury Offering On Shura Island

Red Sea Global (RSG) is expanding its hospitality portfolio at The Red Sea destination following a strong surge in visitor demand during Ramadan and ahead of the peak Eid Al-Adha travel season.

The regenerative tourism developer said occupancy across the destination reached 82% during the final 10 days of Ramadan, prompting the launch of a new luxury resort on Shura Island.

Miraval The Red Sea officially opens on 15 May, becoming the first Miraval resort outside the United States. The adults-only, all-inclusive wellness retreat adds 180 rooms, suites and villas to the destination’s growing accommodation inventory.

Saudi Arabia Welcomes Miraval’s First International Resort

The opening marks a significant milestone for both Red Sea Global and the Miraval Resorts & Spas brand, which is internationally recognised for its wellness-focused hospitality experiences.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said the arrival of Miraval reflects increasing confidence in Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector and the growing appeal of The Red Sea destination.

“Welcoming Miraval Resorts & Spas, a globally respected wellness brand, to the destination reflects ongoing confidence in Saudi Arabia’s tourism offering,” Pagano said.

“Demand during Ramadan and forward bookings for Eid Al-Adha point to strong momentum for the destination. Whether to celebrate Eid or simply enjoy a luxury getaway, we look forward to welcoming guests from across the Kingdom and around the world to experience our Saudi Hafawah.”

Wellness Experiences Focus On Mindfulness And Restoration

Guests staying at Miraval The Red Sea will have access to personalised wellness itineraries centred on mindfulness, connection and intentional living.

The resort’s experiences include yoga, meditation, creative activities, wellness guidance and locally inspired culinary offerings designed to support holistic wellbeing.

At the centre of the resort is the 3,000-square-metre Life in Balance Spa, currently the largest spa facility on Shura Island, featuring 39 treatment rooms.

The wellness complex also includes the Serenity Center, Body Mindfulness Center, Miraval Challenge Course and Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen, offering expert-led programs focused on integrative wellness, outdoor adventure and nutrition.

Resort Supports Red Sea Global’s Regenerative Tourism Vision

Miraval The Red Sea has been developed in line with Red Sea Global’s regenerative tourism strategy, which aims to achieve a 30% net conservation gain by 2040.

The resort operates entirely on renewable energy and incorporates advanced waste and water management systems intended to minimise environmental impact while supporting biodiversity enhancement.

Additional Flights Added Ahead Of Eid Al-Adha

Located on Shura Island at the heart of The Red Sea destination, the resort is accessible through Red Sea International Airport, followed by a 25 to 30-minute electric vehicle transfer.

To accommodate increased visitor demand during Eid Al-Adha, an additional 32 flights have been added to the airport schedule.

Guests visiting during the festive period will also have access to a curated programme of dining, entertainment and cultural experiences across the destination.

More Luxury Hotels Planned For Shura Island

Red Sea Global is continuing to expand its hospitality footprint on Shura Island, with Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island preparing to open and already accepting reservations from 20 May.

The Red Sea destination currently has 11 hotels in operation, with six additional properties scheduled to open on Shura Island in the coming months.
