Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo At Marunouchi Reopens After Luxury Transformation

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi has officially reopened following a major redesign that introduces a new concept of boutique luxury hospitality in the Japanese capital.

The transformed 57-room property now focuses on privacy, personalised service and residential-style comfort, positioning itself as a modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese manor.

Luxury Hotel Reopens After Major Transformation

Located near Tokyo Station in the Marunouchi district, the hotel has undergone a full redesign led by acclaimed interior architect André Fu.

The renovation introduces newly redesigned guestrooms, suites and public areas inspired by the concept of “Nihon no teitaku,” or contemporary Japanese stately living.

Four Seasons said the project was designed to create a calmer, more intimate environment focused on quiet luxury and personal connection.

Private Arrival Experience Introduced

One of the most significant changes is the hotel’s redesigned arrival experience. Guests are now welcomed with Champagne before being escorted directly to their rooms or suites for private check-in.

The hotel said the approach is intended to create the feeling of arriving at a private residence rather than a traditional hotel.

The new lobby combines oak, grey marble, shoji-inspired screens and soft lighting influenced by the Japanese concept of komorebi, which describes sunlight filtering through trees.

Rooms Inspired By Residential Living

The redesigned accommodations feature warmer residential layouts with sliding panels, custom furnishings and handcrafted Japanese details.

Interiors incorporate teal green and dusty pink colour palettes alongside artisan ceramics, bronze lighting and cherry blossom-inspired decorative elements.

Enhanced in-room technology now includes 65-inch televisions, portable speakers and upgraded entertainment systems.

Guests also receive locally inspired amenities including handcrafted tea sets, premium Japanese teas, seasonal fruit and traditional wagashi sweets.

Focus On Personalised Tokyo Experiences

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi is also expanding its concierge and personalised guest experiences.

The hotel now offers curated cultural activities including ramen-making workshops, sumo experiences and guided nightlife tours through areas such as Ginza and Shinjuku.

General Manager Jens Wycisk described the reopening as a renewed commitment to serenity, individuality and intuitive service designed around modern luxury travellers.

Tokyo Luxury Hospitality Continues To Evolve

The reopening reflects wider trends across Japan’s luxury hotel sector, where international brands are increasingly focusing on smaller-scale, experience-driven hospitality concepts blending local craftsmanship with personalised service.

With only 57 rooms, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi remains one of the city’s most intimate luxury hotel offerings in the heart of the capital.
