Four Seasons has officially opened its newest luxury resort on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, marking another milestone in the Kingdom’s ambitious tourism transformation strategy.
Located on Shura Island within the Red Sea destination, the new resort combines luxury hospitality with environmental stewardship, offering guests access to one of the world’s most pristine marine ecosystems.
A New Luxury Destination On The Red Sea
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island is situated on the island’s secluded eastern shoreline, offering direct access to beaches, coral reefs and desert landscapes.
The property is located approximately 25 minutes from Red Sea International Airport and forms part of the wider Red Sea tourism development being created by Red Sea Global.
Powered entirely by renewable energy, the resort has been designed around principles of regenerative tourism, aiming to balance luxury travel with environmental conservation.
Rooms, Suites And Private Residences
The resort features 149 guest rooms and suites alongside 31 private residences.
Inspired by ancient desert trade caravans, the low-rise accommodations are designed to blend into the surrounding landscape while offering direct access to nature and sea views.
The property has achieved LEED Platinum certification, reflecting its focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Experiences Above And Below The Water
The Red Sea’s marine environment plays a central role in the guest experience.
Visitors can explore one of the world’s largest barrier reef systems through snorkeling and diving excursions, while other activities include paddleboarding, kayaking, e-foiling and electric Seabob adventures.
The resort’s Marine Discovery Centre introduces guests to local conservation projects and the more than 200 species unique to the region.
Guests can also participate in coral reef and mangrove restoration initiatives, helping support ongoing environmental protection efforts.
Adventure In The Desert
Beyond the coastline, visitors can discover the dramatic landscapes surrounding the Red Sea.
Activities include rock climbing, guided abseiling experiences, ziplining and desert exploration against the backdrop of the Hijazi Mountains.
After sunset, the remote location offers ideal conditions for stargazing under some of the region’s clearest night skies.
Dining Inspired By Place
The resort offers six dining venues showcasing Mediterranean, Levantine and plant-forward cuisine.
Guests can participate in culinary experiences ranging from Saudi coffee tastings to alcohol-free cocktail workshops and wellness-focused cooking classes.
Many of the experiences are designed to deepen visitors’ understanding of local culture and traditions.
Wellness And Relaxation
The spa draws inspiration from the natural elements of the Red Sea, incorporating regional ingredients and traditional wellness practices.
Treatments include botanical hammam rituals, herbal therapies and signature massages designed to promote relaxation and recovery.
Additional facilities include three swimming pools, including an adults-only pool, as well as access to Shura Links, Saudi Arabia’s first island championship golf course.
Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Ambitions
The opening highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on luxury tourism and sustainable travel experiences.
As the Kingdom continues to invest heavily in hospitality and tourism infrastructure, Shura Island is positioning itself as one of the country’s flagship destinations for high-end international travelers seeking nature, wellness and adventure in a unique setting.
