$500 Million Redevelopment Planned For Former Colgate Plant In Indiana

Developer Weyland Ventures is planning a major $500 million redevelopment of the former Colgate manufacturing plant in Clarksville, Indiana, transforming the historic industrial site into a large mixed-use destination.

The proposed project at 1410 S. Clark Boulevard would include hotels, a convention centre, restaurants, residential units, courtyards and a sports complex.

Historic Clock Tower Building To Become Marriott Hotel

One of the centrepieces of the redevelopment will be the conversion of the site’s iconic clock tower building into a Marriott-branded hotel with 175 guest rooms.

A second building on the property would add another 145 Marriott-branded rooms as part of the broader hospitality development.

The hotel component is expected to form part of the project’s first construction phase.

Mixed-Use Development Planned Across Site

The hotel will connect directly to a loft-style mixed-use building featuring retail or coworking space on the ground floor and residential apartments above.

Developers also plan landscaped courtyards and public gathering areas designed to create a more active urban environment across the former industrial site.

Convention And Event Facilities Included

The first phase of development also includes a 200,000-square-foot building connected to a convention centre.

Approximately 150,000 square feet of the structure would be dedicated to parking facilities, while the remaining space would serve as exhibition and event areas.

The convention and hospitality components are expected to position the redevelopment as a major events and tourism destination for the region.

Construction Expected To Begin In 2027

Design work for the redevelopment is currently underway.

According to project plans, construction is expected to begin in 2027.

The redevelopment would significantly transform the former Colgate manufacturing complex, introducing new hospitality, residential and entertainment infrastructure to Clarksville.
