A new fantasy-inspired destination has arrived in Wisconsin Dells with the opening of Dellshire Resort, a medieval-themed property combining immersive storytelling, family entertainment, resort-style amenities and one of the largest dragon sculptures in the world.
The newly opened resort features 208 guestrooms and suites, a 9,000-square-foot entertainment complex, multiple dining venues, indoor and outdoor aquatic attractions, and a signature mixed reality experience scheduled to launch in 2026.
Located minutes from downtown Wisconsin Dells, the property aims to create a fully immersive escape where guests become part of an evolving fantasy narrative from the moment they arrive.
A 70-Foot Fire-Breathing Dragon Welcomes Guests
Perhaps the resort’s most striking feature is Golspar, a massive 70-foot-long steel dragon positioned at the entrance.
Created by Las Vegas metal sculptor Kevin Stone, the nearly 17,000-pound sculpture ranks among the largest steel dragon artworks in the world. The dragon periodically breathes fire, creating a dramatic arrival experience and serving as the symbolic guardian of the resort.
Golspar’s presence extends throughout the property, with dragon-inspired design elements woven into the architecture, artwork and storytelling.
Inside the lobby, guests are greeted by soaring cathedral-style windows, stone masonry, medieval-inspired chandeliers and a compass embedded into the floor, reinforcing the resort’s adventurous theme. A dragon fountain overlooking an indoor koi pond adds another whimsical touch to the grand entrance.
208 Rooms and Suites Designed Around Fantasy Storytelling
Dellshire Resort offers 11 accommodation categories ranging from traditional guestrooms to expansive multi-bedroom suites capable of accommodating up to 13 guests.
The interiors blend medieval-inspired design with contemporary comforts. Dark woods, custom millwork, iron accents, forest-themed murals and handcrafted details create an atmosphere that feels both magical and welcoming.
Accommodation options include the Earl Suite, Watchtower Suite, Gatehouse Suite, Duke Suite, Queen’s Quarters and the expansive King’s Quarters.
The resort’s largest accommodation, the 1,500-square-foot King’s Quarters, can host up to 13 guests and includes multiple bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchenette and loft-style sleeping areas.
Many family-focused rooms also feature custom-built bunk beds designed to create memorable sleepover-style experiences for younger visitors.
Serpent’s Bay Brings Indoor and Outdoor Water Attractions
At the heart of the resort is Serpent’s Bay, an aquatic complex featuring five separate pool and splash experiences.
The facility combines indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing year-round enjoyment regardless of weather conditions.
Families can enjoy water slides, splash areas and interactive games, while adults have access to Scale Cove, an adults-only swim-up bar featuring underwater seating and a menu of cocktails and light bites.
The Grotto hot tub pavilion offers additional opportunities for relaxation, while outdoor pools, waterfalls, private cabanas and fire features enhance the resort atmosphere.
Hero’s Hall Delivers Family Entertainment
Hero’s Hall serves as the resort’s dedicated family entertainment centre.
Spanning 9,000 square feet across two levels, the attraction features arcade games, prize stations, themed décor and a dramatic dragon skull suspended overhead.
The venue also includes Gilded Spouts, a beverage station offering self-service Wisconsin craft beers and cocktails for adults alongside soft drinks for younger guests.
A private event space known as the Knights Chamber is available for birthday celebrations and group gatherings.
Five Dining Venues Across the Property
Dellshire Resort offers five food and beverage concepts designed to complement the property’s storytelling theme.
The signature restaurant, Blade & Barrel, combines tavern-inspired surroundings with elevated comfort food prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Signature dishes include the Seven-Finger Pork Chop, Medieval Double Burger and Fried Northern Walleye.
Additional venues include The Thirsty Dragon cocktail lounge, Scale Cove poolside bar, Kettle & Keep café and marketplace, and Gilded Spouts inside Hero’s Hall.
Beyond the resort itself, guests can also visit Dawn Manor, a nearby Victorian-era mansion restaurant overlooking Mirror Lake. The historic property features multiple themed dining rooms and the restored Uphoff’s Rotunda speakeasy, originally relocated from Chicago during the Prohibition era.
Large Event Facilities Target Meetings and Groups
Dellshire Resort has also positioned itself as a destination for corporate events, conferences and private celebrations.
The property offers more than 10,800 square feet of meeting and event space, anchored by the Keystone Event Center.
The Chaucer-Troyes Ballroom can host up to 280 guests and features soaring ceilings, stone accents and a private outdoor balcony. Additional meeting rooms and flexible pre-function spaces support both business and social events.
Mixed Reality Adventure Launches in 2026
One of the resort’s most ambitious attractions is still to come.
Scheduled to launch during summer 2026, Legends of Dellshire will transform the entire resort into an interactive mixed reality experience.
Using augmented reality headsets, guests will be able to explore themed locations throughout the property, unlock story elements and participate in an evolving fantasy adventure integrated into their stay.
The attraction is expected to become the resort’s signature experience and one of the most innovative hospitality entertainment concepts in Wisconsin Dells.
