Meliá Hotels International is expanding its presence in Mexico with the opening of INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte, the company’s first hotel in Mexico City and its ninth property in the country.
The new lifestyle hotel is scheduled to open in June in the capital’s Roma Norte district, one of the city’s most creative and rapidly evolving neighbourhoods.
Meliá Expands Lifestyle Portfolio In Mexico
With more than 50 hotels worldwide, the INNSiDE by Meliá brand focuses on modern travellers seeking a combination of business, leisure and lifestyle experiences.
Meliá said the opening reflects growing demand for “bleisure” travel, where guests combine work trips with longer leisure stays and local cultural experiences.
Mexico City’s expanding international business scene and vibrant culinary and cultural environment have helped drive this trend.
Roma Norte Chosen For Lifestyle Focus
The new hotel is located in Roma Norte, an area known for its historic architecture, restaurants, cafés, galleries and creative atmosphere.
Meliá said the district represents one of the strongest examples of Mexico City’s evolving urban lifestyle scene.
The hotel has been designed to encourage flexibility and social interaction through adaptable communal spaces and a strong connection to the local neighbourhood.
Rooftop, Social Spaces And Flexible Design
INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte will feature 91 rooms alongside a rooftop restaurant and bar, meeting areas, a gym and open social spaces.
The property’s lobby, terrace and communal areas have been designed to function as both work and leisure environments throughout the day.
The hotel will also offer curated activities linked to Mexico City’s culture, history and creative community.
Mexico City Gains Global Tourism Momentum
Meliá said the opening comes during a period of growing international visibility for Mexico City, partly supported by major upcoming events including the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Company chairman and chief executive Gabriel Escarrer said the project strengthens Meliá’s position within the fast-growing bleisure travel segment.
He said modern travellers increasingly seek creativity, flexibility and authentic local experiences during their stays.
Mexico Remains Strategic Market For Meliá
Mexico has become one of Meliá Hotels International’s most important global markets in terms of revenue and operations.
The company already operates hotels across destinations including Cancún, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.
Meliá also plans additional openings in Mexico, including Zel Cozumel and a future ME by Meliá luxury property in San Miguel de Allende.
