Sonesta Opens 58-room Red Lion Inn in Ohio

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation has expanded its presence in Ohio with the opening of Red Lion Inn & Suites Bucyrus North, a new 58-room property located in Crawford County, approximately one hour north of Columbus.

The opening marks another milestone in Sonesta’s ongoing expansion strategy and pushes the company’s Ohio portfolio beyond 25 properties.

Growing Presence in Secondary Markets

The new hotel strengthens Sonesta’s footprint in smaller regional destinations while providing travellers with additional accommodation options in north-central Ohio.

According to Sonesta Co-CEO Keith Pierce, the opening reflects the company’s focus on strategic growth in markets where demand exists for reliable and affordable lodging.

“The addition of the Red Lion Inn & Suites Bucyrus North represents an exciting step forward for Sonesta, pushing our Ohio portfolio past the 25-property mark,” Pierce said.

He added that expanding the Red Lion brand into secondary markets supports the company’s goal of offering accessible and dependable accommodation across a broader range of destinations.

Red Lion Brand Continues Expansion

Red Lion Hotels, Inns & Suites by Sonesta has built its reputation around comfortable stays, friendly service and convenient amenities for both business and leisure travellers.

The brand continues to expand across the United States as part of Sonesta’s wider growth strategy.

Guests at the Bucyrus property will have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, cable television with HBO, mini refrigerators and microwaves in every room.

Loyalty Benefits for Guests

Travellers staying at Red Lion Inn & Suites Bucyrus North can participate in the Sonesta Travel Pass loyalty programme, earning and redeeming points across Sonesta’s growing portfolio of hotels.

The programme offers members benefits across multiple Sonesta brands, providing flexibility for both frequent business travellers and leisure guests.

Supporting Regional Travel Demand

Located within Crawford County, the hotel provides a convenient accommodation option for visitors travelling through north-central Ohio, as well as those visiting local businesses, attractions and nearby communities.

The opening further reinforces Sonesta’s strategy of expanding beyond major metropolitan areas and strengthening its presence in regional markets where demand for midscale lodging continues to grow.
