Syria Launches Syria Travel Show 2026 to Accelerate Tourism Recovery

Syria is formally re-entering the regional tourism marketplace with the launch of the inaugural Syria Travel Show 2026, a business-to-business platform designed to catalyse investment, rebuild international partnerships and reposition the country’s tourism sector within the Middle East and North Africa.

The event will take place from 14–16 April 2026 at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Tourism of Syria.

The exhibition is being organised in strategic partnership with Mangusteen for Exhibitions and Conferences and SO Media, signalling a coordinated effort to reconnect Syria with regional and international travel trade stakeholders.

Positioned as a focused B2B marketplace rather than a consumer-facing fair, Syria Travel Show 2026 will convene international tour operators, travel agencies, hospitality investors, cultural tourism specialists and media representatives. The format is designed to facilitate structured investment dialogue, partnership agreements and destination reintroduction strategies.

The announcement follows reported sector growth. Between January and November 2025, Syria recorded 3.56 million visitors – including Syrians, Arab nationals and international travellers – representing overall growth of 18%. Arab and foreign arrivals increased by 80% during the same period, suggesting renewed cross-border demand.

Regionally, tourism performance has remained strong. According to data from UN Tourism referenced by organisers, the Middle East recorded growth of approximately 3% in 2025, exceeding pre-pandemic levels by nearly 39%.

Within this context, Syria Travel Show 2026 is positioned as a structured B2B marketplace designed to align visitor growth with long-term capital flows and institutional partnerships. The programme will emphasise cultural and heritage tourism development, hospitality and hotel investment, public-private partnerships, community-based tourism models, regulatory dialogue and sector modernisation.

Organisers say the event aims to support tourism ecosystem recovery across infrastructure, services and workforce development – moving beyond short-term visitor increases toward sustainable, investment-led sector rebuilding.
