Wizz Air is scaling up its most talked-about comfort upgrade – the service passengers have nicknamed the airline’s “business class.”
After completing a trial period across six bases, the Hungarian low-cost carrier has confirmed it will roll out Wizz Class across its entire route network. The airline says the decision comes after strong demand during the pilot phase.
According to Wizz Air, the Wizz Class option will be available on all routes from 9 February 2026.
What Wizz Class actually includes
Despite the name, Wizz Class is not a traditional business class product with a separate cabin, upgraded meals, or lounge access.
Instead, the service is built around one simple comfort upgrade: a guaranteed empty middle seat in the first row.
Under the Wizz Class conditions, passengers receive a reserved empty seat in the middle position in row one – specifically seats 1B and 1E.
Because row one also offers extra legroom, the airline says the combination delivers a noticeable improvement in comfort, particularly on short-haul flights where space is often the biggest complaint.
How passengers can buy it
Wizz Class cannot be purchased as a standalone fare type.
Instead, it is only available as an add-on during booking, and only when passengers select Smart or Plus packages. These bundles already include:
- priority boarding
- a 10kg cabin bag allowance
- On top of the empty middle seat, Wizz Class passengers also receive:
- one complimentary soft drink
- one snack
A low-cost carrier response to “premium” demand
The expansion signals a wider trend across European low-cost airlines: passengers are increasingly willing to pay for small, clearly defined comfort upgrades – even without a full-service business class product.
For Wizz Air, Wizz Class offers a relatively low-cost way to sell a premium experience, using existing aircraft layouts while increasing revenue per flight.
And for travellers, it’s a straightforward proposition: more space, extra legroom, and a quieter front-row experience – without paying full-service airline prices.
