Hilton has announced a new agreement with The Zubair Corporation to open three hotels in Muscat, introducing the Waldorf Astoria, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton brands to the city’s Barr Al Jissah development. The deal marks the debut of the Waldorf Astoria brand in Oman and will double Hilton’s footprint in the Sultanate.

All three properties will be located within the Barr Al Jissah coastal district, a scenic waterfront destination surrounded by mountains and private beaches, less than 40 minutes from Muscat International Airport.

The existing Al Husn Hotel Muscat will be transformed into the Waldorf Astoria Muscat, featuring 180 guest rooms and suites, five dining venues, a luxury spa, and exclusive access to a private beach cove. Hilton Muscat Al Bandar will offer 198 rooms, six restaurants, meeting spaces, and a spa with treatment villas, while DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha will feature 302 rooms and four dining venues.

Guests will also have access to shared leisure facilities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, a health club, mini-golf, and a children’s club, creating a resort experience that blends coastal relaxation with modern amenities.

Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Vice President of Development for the Middle East and Africa, said the openings represent a “significant new chapter” for Hilton in Oman. He highlighted the country’s growing appeal for international visitors and its alignment with Oman’s Vision 2040, which aims to attract 12 million tourists annually by 2040.

Hilton currently operates three hotels in Oman: Hilton Salalah, DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Qurum, and Hilton Garden Inn Muscat Al Khuwair. With these new properties, the group strengthens its position as a leading hospitality player in the region.
