Hilton Signs New Hotel for Thessaloniki, Greece

Hilton has announced plans to expand its presence in Greece with the signing of a new Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Thessaloniki, scheduled to open in 2029.

The hotel will be developed by Greek real estate company DIMAND and operated by Hilton under a management agreement, further strengthening Hilton’s growing portfolio in one of its key European markets.

Once completed, Hilton Thessaloniki will increase the company’s presence in Greece, where it now has more than 70 operating and pipeline hotels.

184 Rooms Across Two Buildings

The new hotel will feature 184 guestrooms distributed between two buildings.

The development will include a newly constructed main hotel with 154 rooms alongside a restored heritage building offering an additional 30 guestrooms.

Guests will have access to two restaurants, two bars, fitness facilities, conference and event spaces, as well as a rooftop terrace and swimming pool overlooking Thessaloniki and the Aegean Sea.

Part of a Wider Regeneration Project

The hotel forms part of a broader redevelopment masterplan designed by Foster + Partners.

A neighbouring building will accommodate the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra and exhibition spaces, creating a new cultural destination alongside the hotel.

Hilton Strengthens Presence in Greece

Alan Mantin, Vice President of Development for Southern Europe at Hilton, said the signing reflects the company’s confidence in Greece as an important strategic market.

“This signing reflects our continued progress and confidence in Greece, a key strategic market for Hilton, and our commitment to growing our portfolio in key destinations to serve a wider range of traveller needs,” he said.

DIMAND Chief Executive Dimitris Andriopoulos said the arrival of Hilton demonstrates Thessaloniki’s growing attractiveness as both an investment location and an international tourism destination.

The project follows Hilton’s continued international expansion, including the recently announced Conrad Kobe in Japan, which is scheduled to open by 2030.
