Marriott International has opened Moxy Belfast City, introducing its playful lifestyle brand to Northern Ireland and marking the 100th Moxy hotel in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
The new 179-room property is centrally located, within walking distance of Belfast City Hall, Ulster Hall, Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and the vibrant Cathedral Quarter nightlife and dining scene. Developed in collaboration with MHL Hotel Collection, the hotel is a conversion project that reflects Moxy’s bold industrial design, social spaces, and energetic service.
“Reaching 100 hotels in EMEA is a proud moment for the Moxy brand,” said Neal Jones, COO of Marriott International Europe & Africa Premium and Select. “Moxy Belfast City embodies everything our guests love about the brand—bold design, energetic service, and a sense of fun that’s unmistakably Moxy.”
Since its launch in Milan in 2014, Moxy Hotels has challenged conventional hospitality by offering contemporary travellers vibrant social environments alongside innovative design. Across EMEA, Moxy now operates 100 hotels in 18 destinations, representing 60% of the brand’s global portfolio.
Paul Higgins, partner at MHL Hotel Collection, added: “We’re incredibly proud to be the 100th hotel in such a bold, energetic brand, and even prouder to open as the first Moxy Hotel in Northern Ireland. Belfast is the perfect backdrop for the brand’s spirit of connection, fun, and innovation.”
Moxy plans to continue its European expansion with five new hotels by the end of 2025, including locations in Portugal, Ireland, Germany, the UK, and France.
Guests at Moxy Belfast City can now experience the brand’s signature lively atmosphere, with special gifts available for select check-ins to celebrate the opening.
