QantasLink will soon connect Perth to two of Australia’s most remote and spectacular destinations for the very first time, with flights to Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands taking off from 3 November 2025.
Part of a five-year partnership with the Australian Government, the new routes will provide essential passenger and freight services for the more than 2,500 residents across the Indian Ocean Territories, while also opening the door for more Australians to explore their unique natural wonders.
Bookings open Monday 18 August, with flights operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from Perth’s Terminal 1. Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft will fly services in full economy configuration.
Why You’ll Want to Go
Christmas Island: Famous for its breathtaking red crab migration, lush national park (covering 63% of the island), and rare bird species.
Cocos (Keeling) Islands: A tropical paradise of 27 coral islands, turquoise lagoons, world-class diving, and vibrant Cocos Malay culture.
QantasLink CEO Rachel Yangoyan said the airline is honoured to serve these territories:
“We’re committed to delivering a reliable and warm service to customers, supporting these island communities, and helping more Australians discover their incredible beauty and unique cultures.”
With flight times of around five hours from Perth, the new services promise to make two of Australia’s most remote destinations more accessible than ever.
