5 Killed in Collision at Japan’s Haneda Airport

A collision between a Japan AirlinesĀ passenger plane and a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport has tragically led to the death of five individuals, as reported by BBC.

All the deceased were occupants of the Coast Guard aircraft, clarified Japanese authorities.

Earlier reports indicated that a Japan Airlines (JAL) plane, operating a domestic flight, caught fire shortly after landing due to a collision on the runway with the Japanese Coast Guard aircraft.

All 379 passengers and crew on board were evacuated but five of the six crew on the coastguard plane died, police said. The captain was injured.
