Border guards at Gdansk Airport barred two men from boarding their New Year flights as they made bomb jokes. This information was reported in the summary provided by the Polish Border Guard, published on January 2.
A 62-year-old resident of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland intended to fly to Ireland from Gdansk. However, the aircraft captain learned that the passenger had mentioned having a weapon in his baggage.
Another passenger, a 34-year-old resident of the same Pomeranian Voivodeship, was also denied boarding on his flight to Bergen for the New Year. During the check-in process, he declared having a bomb in his luggage.
Border guards arrived at the scene, inspected the baggage, but found no explosives.
Additionally, a 56-year-old resident of Warsaw was not allowed on the flight to Egypt because he “consumed too much alcohol and did not follow the crew’s instructions.”
“A special intervention group from the local border service was called on board the aircraft. They managed to escort the man, who ended up in the Emergency Social Aid Center for individuals in a state of alcohol intoxication, instead of going to Egypt,” the summary stated.
