The Shepherd Mayfair Reveals Signature Restaurant Fayre Menu

The Shepherd Mayfair has revealed the first menu for its signature restaurant, Fayre, ahead of the boutique hotel’s opening on 1 September 2026. Located in the heart of Shepherd Market, the restaurant combines seasonal British cuisine with interiors inspired by the rich history of one of London‘s oldest neighbourhoods.

Opening alongside the 82-room boutique hotel, Fayre has been designed as a neighbourhood restaurant welcoming both hotel guests and local residents throughout the day.

A Restaurant Inspired by Mayfair’s History

The Shepherd Mayfair occupies the site of “The Cottage,” believed to be Mayfair’s oldest house, dating back to 1618. The area later became home to the historic May Fair before architect Edward Shepherd transformed it into the intimate streets now known as Shepherd Market.

That heritage is reflected throughout Fayre’s design. The 62-seat restaurant features banquette seating, dark timber panelling and rich berry-coloured interiors inspired by mulberries and blueberries.

Wall coverings created by London artist Adam Ellis depict theatrical scenes inspired by the original May Fair, including livestock markets, travelling performers, games of chance and other historic gatherings that once defined the district.

Seasonal British Cuisine

Fayre will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a menu focused on seasonal British ingredients alongside classic European cooking.

Small plates include lobster and prawn brioche rolls and braised beef short rib croquettes, while starters feature dishes such as crispy duck confit salad, citrus-cured trout and scallops.

Main courses include Gloucester Old Spot pork chop, a beef Wellington pithivier, dry-aged steaks and seasonal vegetarian options, all designed to showcase high-quality British produce.

Signature “Puddings by the Glass”

One of Fayre’s distinctive features will be its “Puddings by the Glass” concept, presenting traditional British desserts in elegant tall glasses as a tribute to the theatrical atmosphere of the historic May Fair.

The opening dessert is a strawberry and Champagne trifle, with a different recipe planned each week inspired by flavours from the fair’s history. Additional desserts include Paris-Brest with pistachio mousseline cream, Baked Alaska with caramelised pear, hazelnut and honey, and a blackberry Bakewell tart.

A Collection of Dining Venues

Fayre joins two additional food and beverage venues within The Shepherd Mayfair. The Lounge offers a relaxed café atmosphere with 46 seats and an outdoor terrace, while Teddy’s is an intimate cocktail bar located on the lower ground floor.

Together, the three venues have been designed to serve guests throughout the day, from morning coffee and neighbourhood lunches to evening dining and late-night cocktails.

The Shepherd Mayfair Opens This September

Designed by Timothy Shepherd of Shepherd&, The Shepherd Mayfair features 82 guestrooms and suites spread across six floors. Conceived as a contemporary interpretation of Mayfair’s historic townhouses, the boutique hotel aims to offer a more intimate, neighbourhood-focused alternative to the district’s traditional luxury hotels.

The Shepherd Mayfair and its signature restaurant Fayre will officially open their doors on 1 September 2026 in the heart of Shepherd Market.
