TAP Air Portugal Adds 4 New Routes Across Europe in 2026

TAP Air Portugal is launching four new routes across Europe, the Azores and long-haul markets from 1 July 2026, as the carrier expands its network for the summer season.

The airline began a new service between Porto and Terceira Island in the Azores on 1 July, with four weekly flights operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft. It is also due to start flights between Lisbon and Athens on 2 July, with five weekly frequencies.

The new Porto-Terceira route runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights leave Porto at 15:20 and arrive in Terceira at 17:05, while return services depart Terceira on Mondays and Sundays at 17:55 and on Wednesdays and Fridays at 18:10.

The airline said the return flights arrive in Porto at 21:25 and 21:40, respectively. The route adds another direct link between mainland Portugal and the Azores, one of the country’s key island destinations.

TAP said the expansion strengthens its offer across European, island and intercontinental destinations. The new Lisbon-Athens service adds another option for passengers travelling between Portugal and Greece during the busy summer period.

Airbus A320neo aircraft will operate the Porto-Terceira route, giving the carrier a single-aisle aircraft on the short-haul sector. The schedule offers morning and afternoon departures on selected days, aimed at both leisure and connecting travellers.

The move is part of a broader route rollout by the flag carrier as it seeks to increase capacity from its main hubs in Lisbon and Porto. The additional flights also come as airlines across Europe continue to rebuild and expand their networks following years of disruption.
