Etihad Airways has suspended flights between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait after confirming cancellations on its Kuwait route until at least June 15 following the continued closure affecting operations at Kuwait International Airport.
The disruption affects passengers traveling between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait as airlines across the region continue adjusting schedules amid operational challenges affecting Gulf airspace and airport operations.
The airline says affected passengers are being contacted directly as it works to manage travel disruptions.
Etihad Suspends Abu Dhabi-Kuwait Services Until Mid-June
The airline confirmed that flights EY653 and EY654 operating between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait have been canceled through June 15.
The route normally connects Abu Dhabi’s primary hub with Kuwait’s main international gateway and serves both business and leisure travelers moving between the two Gulf markets.
Etihad stated that the cancellations are directly linked to the extended closure impacting airport operations in Kuwait.
Passengers booked on affected services are being encouraged to verify their contact information to receive operational updates.
Regional Aviation Continues Facing Operational Disruption
The Kuwait cancellations represent another example of how regional operational issues are continuing to affect airline schedules across the Middle East.
Several carriers have introduced schedule adjustments, cancellations and route changes in recent weeks as airlines adapt to evolving operating conditions.
For travelers connecting through Gulf hubs, the latest disruption increases the importance of monitoring bookings closely, particularly for connecting itineraries.
At present, Etihad has not announced a confirmed restart date beyond June 15, meaning further updates may follow depending on operational developments.
