Iran Launches Missile and Drone Attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain

Kuwait and Bahrain activated their air defense systems overnight after Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting the two Gulf states, marking another escalation in regional tensions.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming missiles and drones. Authorities reported no casualties or material damage following the attack. Air raid alerts were activated as a precaution while security forces monitored the situation. Reuters and regional officials reported that Kuwait intercepted two ballistic missiles. No injuries or destruction were reported.

In neighboring Bahrain, warning sirens sounded across the country as authorities urged residents to remain calm and seek shelter in the nearest safe location. A residential building near Bahrain International Airport was damaged during the attack, but officials said there were no fatalities or injuries. The country condemned the strike as a violation of its sovereignty.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the operation, saying it had targeted the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, which hosts US military personnel. The group described the strikes as retaliation against recent US military actions in the region.

The attacks further heighten tensions in the Gulf and raise concerns over the security of military installations and civilian infrastructure across the region. Both Kuwait and Bahrain remain key security partners of the United States and host significant American military facilities.
