Baglietto Launches First FAST50 Superyacht In La Spezia

Baglietto has launched the first 49.9-metre FAST50 yacht from its shipyard in La Spezia, Italy, marking the debut of a new aluminium superyacht series focused on speed, volume and contemporary design.

The yacht is the first unit in the Italian builder’s FAST50 line, a model created to combine the performance heritage of Baglietto’s historic aluminium yachts with the comfort and liveability usually associated with larger displacement vessels.

Baglietto Introduces A New Fast Aluminium Series

The FAST50 was first presented as Baglietto’s flagship fast yacht concept in 2024 and has now reached the water as the shipyard looks to reinterpret one of the most recognizable parts of its design heritage.

According to the builder, the yacht draws inspiration from earlier Baglietto fast yachts including Adler, Pachamama and Monokini, while translating that legacy into a more modern platform.

Fabio Ermetto, Chief Commercial Officer at Baglietto, said the project reflects the yard’s aim to create sporty yachts with a strong identity while combining performance, comfort and owner-focused liveability.

Francesco Paszkowski Design Shapes The Exterior

The FAST50 features exterior styling by Francesco Paszkowski, with interiors developed by Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini.

Naval architecture comes from Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture.

The yacht’s design takes cues from the automotive world, including integrated air intakes, sports car-inspired stern fairleads and a custom Porsche Chalk hull colour developed with a bespoke Boero paint cycle.

Two-Level Stern And Beach Club Define The Layout

A major feature of the FAST50 is its two-level stern, which includes fold-down bulwarks designed to expand the beach club area closer to the water.

The yacht also uses a hidden transformer instead of a traditional passerelle, helping preserve the sleek exterior profile.

Full-height windows and cut-out bulwarks are designed to create a stronger connection between interior spaces, exterior decks and the sea.

Three Decks, Rooftop Space And Owner-Focused Accommodation

Unlike many earlier Baglietto fast yachts, the FAST50 has been developed across three full decks.

The upper deck includes a veranda that opens on three sides and hosts a panoramic dining area, while the foredeck offers lounge seating, sunpads and a bow Jacuzzi.

A rooftop area, unusual for a yacht in this category, creates an additional private space for dining, relaxing and entertaining.

At 499 GT, the yacht accommodates guests across four staterooms, including two VIP cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck, alongside a wide-body owner’s suite on the main deck.

Performance Expected To Reach 30 Knots

Built entirely in aluminium, the FAST50 has been designed with lightweight materials throughout to support its high-performance profile.

The yacht avoids heavier marble and natural stone in favor of lighter finishes, while exterior handrails are crafted from titanium to reduce weight.

Power comes from four MTU engines, with Baglietto expecting the yacht to reach a top speed of 30 knots.

Baglietto Looks To Blend Heritage And Modern Superyacht Demand

The launch of the first FAST50 signals Baglietto’s intent to bring its fast yacht legacy into a new segment shaped by owners seeking performance without sacrificing space, comfort or design complexity.

For the Italian shipyard, the yacht is not simply a new model.

It is a statement that speed, volume and lifestyle-focused superyacht design can now occupy the same platform.
