easyJet has announced a new domestic route connecting London Southend Airport with Belfast City Airport, further expanding the airline’s UK network ahead of the 2026 winter season.
Flights are now on sale, with the new service scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026.
Three Weekly Flights Planned
The route will operate three times per week on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
easyJet said the schedule is designed to support long weekends, business trips and short leisure breaks between southern England and Northern Ireland.
The airline added that the route will strengthen tourism and business links while offering passengers greater flexibility and affordable travel options.
Fares are available starting from £25.99.
Belfast City Airport Offers Fast Access To City Centre
The new route will connect two airports located close to their respective city centres.
Belfast City Airport is situated only a few minutes from central Belfast, while London Southend Airport provides rail access into central London and surrounding areas of Essex and East Anglia.
Airport officials said the service will become the only direct route between Essex and Belfast City Airport.
Nigel Mayes, Business Development Director at London Southend Airport, described the announcement as an important milestone for the airport.
“We’re delighted to be working with easyJet to bring this popular route back and look forward to welcoming passengers on board from 25 October,” Mayes said.
easyJet Targets Leisure And Business Demand
easyJet said Belfast continues to attract strong demand from both leisure and corporate travelers.
The airline highlighted attractions including Titanic Belfast, the city’s live music scene, restaurants and cultural landmarks, alongside wider tourism opportunities across Northern Ireland such as the Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said the airline is continuing to expand travel options from London Southend.
“Belfast is an incredibly popular destination for both leisure and business travellers looking for affordable fares and to fly from London Southend with ease,” Doyle said.
easyJet Holidays Also Adds Belfast Packages
easyJet Holidays has also launched package holidays to Belfast, including flights and hotel accommodation.
The company said all packages will include its Ultimate Flexibility policy, allowing customers to amend or cancel bookings if needed.
The route announcement comes as easyJet prepares for a busy summer and winter season, with the airline expecting to carry more than 50 million passengers across its network.
