Sea Containers London Unveils New Suite Design Direction with Riverview Studio Suites and Upgraded River-Facing Collection

Sea Containers London, part of Lore Group, is introducing a new design direction this spring with the launch of a new junior suite category – the Riverview Studio Suite – alongside a broader evolution of its Suite collection.

The refresh includes enhancements to two of the hotel’s most in-demand categories, the Riverview Balcony Suite and the One Bedroom Riverview Suite, building on the momentum of the four Cabin Suites introduced last year.

In total, 59 suites have been reimagined to deepen the hotel’s signature “maritime story” while aligning more closely with the way modern travellers use hotel spaces today – staying longer, working from their rooms, and treating suites as social spaces rather than just places to sleep.

A stronger maritime identity, with a sustainability-led approach

The redesigned suites feature nautical flags, bespoke tapestries, and layered textures intended to add warmth and personality to the river-facing rooms. Many spaces retain and reinterpret original design elements rather than replacing them entirely – an approach that supports a more sustainable, long-term design strategy.

Material choices reinforce this shift. Tabletop and counter surfaces are crafted from recycled plastics, while bespoke coffee tables are made from reclaimed ship propellers sourced through vintage and antique dealers worldwide.

River views as the centerpiece of the experience

Sweeping views of the River Thames remain central to the suite experience. Room layouts have been deliberately composed to frame the river and London’s skyline, turning the view into an anchor point for the entire space.

Each suite is also finished with a selection of coffee-table books curated by Phaidon, adding a design-forward touch aligned with the hotel’s creative identity.

New wellness experiences at agua Spa

Alongside the suite redesign, Sea Containers London has expanded its wellness offering with the launch of agua Studio within agua Spa – a dedicated space hosting weekly yoga classes, breathwork, and immersive sound baths.

The hotel has also introduced the agua Thai Experience, described as a grounding Thai massage ritual focused on balance, recovery, and seasonal reset. Guests can also book holistic therapies using Hedgerow by agua, an organic product line inspired by Britain’s wild hedgerows.

Restaurant and rooftop bar refreshes coming later this year

Sea Containers London confirmed that additional design updates are planned for later this year, including refreshes to Sea Containers Restaurant and the 12th Knot rooftop bar – two of the hotel’s most high-profile public spaces.
