Korean Air Reopens Prestige East Lounge at Incheon with Ramen Labs, Cooking Classes and Arcade Zones

Korean Air has unveiled its newly renovated Prestige East (Left) Lounge at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, marking another step in the airline’s wider premium ground experience upgrade. The lounge welcomed guests on January 14, following a preview unveiling the day before.

Spanning 1,553 square meters and offering seating for 192 passengers, the redesigned space draws inspiration from the refined comfort of high-end hotel lounges. The layout emphasises openness and calm, while delivering a comprehensive range of amenities including a buffet with live cooking stations, multiple dining areas, a bar, shower facilities, and dedicated work-friendly zones tailored to business travellers.

Beyond traditional lounge expectations, the renewed Prestige East Lounge introduces a series of experiential zones designed to appeal to a broader mix of passengers. One of the standout features is the Ramyeon Library, a self-service station celebrating the global rise of K-Food. Guests can choose from a variety of instant noodles and toppings, preparing their selections on automated cooking machines within minutes.

Another new concept is Cooking Studio L’atelier, developed in collaboration with chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon. The studio hosts participation-based classes such as chocolate bark making, with sessions available via on-site reservation. For younger travellers and families, the lounge also includes a dedicated arcade room equipped with photo booths, claw machines, air hockey, and car racing games.

By integrating hands-on activities into the pre-departure experience, Korean Air is repositioning the airport lounge as more than a waiting area. The airline expects the new concepts to resonate particularly strongly with families, younger passengers, and travellers seeking memorable experiences before boarding.

Digital service enhancements play a central role in the updated lounge operation. Passengers using vouchers or mileage can now reserve lounge access in advance through the Korean Air website or mobile app, while First and Prestige Class travellers and SkyTeam Elite Plus members continue to enjoy priority access without reservations. Real-time crowd monitoring, powered by data from automated entry gates, allows passengers to view congestion levels across lounges and adjust their plans accordingly. During peak periods, a mobile queuing system notifies guests as soon as seating becomes available.

Located on the fourth floor of Terminal 2 opposite Gate 253, the reopening of the Prestige East (Left) Lounge forms part of a broader infrastructure expansion at Incheon Terminal 2, ahead of Korean Air’s integration with Asiana Airlines. The airline completed the first phase of its lounge renewal programme in August 2025, opening a redesigned Miler Club and Prestige East (Right) Lounge, along with two Prestige Garden lounges at the far ends of the terminal.

Further upgrades are already underway, with renovations of the First Class Lounge and the Prestige West Lounge scheduled for completion in the first half of this year. Once all projects are finished, Korean Air’s total lounge area at Terminal 2 will expand from 5,105 square meters to 12,270 square meters, nearly two and a half times its previous size. Seating capacity will rise from 898 to 1,566 seats, significantly increasing comfort, choice, and capacity for passengers travelling through Seoul’s main international hub.
