Anantara Unveils Its First Luxury Safari Tented Camp in Zambia

Anantara is set to take travelers deep into the wild heart of Zambia with the launch of its first-ever safari tented camp. Opening in April 2026, the Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp will rise above the banks of the Kafue River, overlooking one of Africa’s great waterways and bordering the country’s oldest and largest national park.

Suspended 3.5 meters above ground on rosewood platforms, the eco-designed camp blends seamlessly into its surroundings, allowing wildlife to move freely beneath. From the decks, guests will look out over floodplains, savannas, and river channels alive with birdlife and the occasional passing elephant.

Designed by South Africa’s MRS Studio, the interiors pair natural textures and mid-century accents with locally sourced materials inspired by the Kafue’s landscapes. The three Horizon Terrace Suites sit 14 meters above the forest canopy, offering sunrise views from private terraces. The nine Pool Villas invite lazy afternoons with butler-served refreshments and dips beneath open skies.

For those seeking complete privacy, the 400-square-meter Presidential Villa includes sweeping river views, its own dock, and a large plunge pool. It can also connect to create a two-bedroom residence spanning over 500 square meters.

Dining at Anantara Kafue celebrates Zambia’s natural abundance. The open-air restaurant serves local fruit, oven-fresh pastries, and hearty breakfasts with views across the river.
