Corinthia Hotels Unveils New Urban Oasis with the Opening of Corinthia Brussels

Corinthia Hotels is proud to announce the grand opening of its newest property, Corinthia Brussels, located in the heart of the Belgian capital. Situated in a meticulously restored 100-year-old Belle Époque landmark, the hotel promises to deliver an unmatched blend of history and modern luxury.

Scheduled to open its highly anticipated 1,200sq m subterranean spa on 16 December, the new wellness destination is set to become a standout feature of the hotel. In collaboration with Sisley, the luxury French skincare brand, the spa will provide a serene retreat with seven private treatment rooms, stunning marble interiors accented with gold details, and an array of rejuvenating facilities. These will include a hammam, sauna, experience showers, a tea room, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, with personal training services provided by Paul Tucker, a former British Army physical training instructor.

Guests will also have the opportunity to shop for premium Sisley products in the spa’s retail space, bringing the essence of luxurious wellness into their daily routines.

This new spa is the second global collaboration between Corinthia Hotels and Sisley, following the successful launch of The Surrey Spa at The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel, in New York this past October.

The spa is part of a four-year restoration project that saw the creation of a new subterranean level beneath the historic building. Corinthia Hotels, a globally recognised operator and developer of luxury properties, now manages the site.

A Historic Landmark Reimagined

The building housing Corinthia Brussels was originally designed by architect Henri Van Dievoet in 1910 under royal commission. Known as the Grand Hotel Astoria, it hosted iconic figures such as Winston Churchill and Andy Warhol during its early years. The restoration, undertaken with Urban Brussels, Patrimoine Brussels, and the Royal Commission, successfully preserved the building’s Belle Époque architecture while adding modern touches to enhance its charm.

Now, the hotel boasts 126 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, seamlessly blending historic grandeur with contemporary comforts to create an unparalleled experience for guests.

A Vision for Luxury Hospitality

Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “The reopening of Corinthia Brussels marks an exciting chapter for both our brand and the city. This project isn’t just about restoring a hotel – it’s about redefining what luxury hospitality can be.”

He continued, “By collaborating with some of Belgium’s most forward-thinking craftspeople and gastronomic minds, we’re challenging conventions and creating something truly special. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience this new era and to discover a space where heritage and innovation meet.”

With the grand opening of Corinthia Brussels, the hotel promises to become a landmark destination where history, luxury, and modern wellness converge in the heart of Brussels.
