Private railway operator European Sleeper is set to launch a new direct night train connecting Brussels and Venice (Italy).
According to a statement from the company, the first journey will depart from the Belgian capital on February 5, 2025, with trains running approximately twice a week during February and March.
The schedule is designed to coincide with school holidays and the peak winter sports season, offering a convenient travel option for those attending the famous Venice Carnival. The route is planned as a seasonal service. Departing from Brussels (Belgium), the train will make stops in the Netherlands (Antwerp, Rotterdam, Utrecht), Germany (Cologne, Munich), Austria (Innsbruck), and Italy (Verona, Venice), passing through the Bavarian and Austrian Alps and reaching the shores of the Adriatic Sea.
The company has released a preliminary timetable showing the train leaving Brussels at 5:00 PM and arriving in Venice at 2:00 PM the following day. However, the exact timings will be finalized after discussions with local transportation authorities in each country. Ticket prices for the new winter route will be announced soon, with bookings officially opening on September 1, 2024.
