Corinthia Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement to operate a new luxury resort on Lake Como, expanding its Italian footprint with a destination property in the alpine village of Menaggio.
The 58-key Corinthia Lake Como will be developed adjacent to the grounds of Italy’s second-oldest golf course, overlooking the widest stretch of the lake. The resort will become the brand’s second property in the country, following the opening of Corinthia Rome.
Plans for the resort centre on a strong wellness and lifestyle proposition, with a world-class spa, curated wellness programming and refined dining experiences. A private lakefront club will provide guests with direct access to the water, while a signature floating pool set on the widest part of the lake is positioned as a defining feature of the development.
Guestrooms and suites will be discreetly integrated into the foothills of the Alps, designed to preserve privacy and maximise views across the surrounding landscape. Public spaces will be distributed across three villas housing the lobby, lounge and golf club, creating a village-style layout that blends hospitality with its natural and cultural setting.
The architectural concept is intended to foster a deep connection to place, combining carefully restored historic structures with generous outdoor living areas. According to the group, the experience will balance serene spa and wellness offerings with relaxed yet sophisticated dining, all framed by Lake Como’s dramatic alpine backdrop.
Commenting on the agreement, Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, said the project reflects the brand’s ambitions in Italy. He described Lake Como as one of the world’s most admired destinations and noted that the development represents a shared commitment to excellence and authenticity, while expressing confidence that the resort will celebrate the region’s heritage through Corinthia’s lens of thoughtful, timeless luxury.
Construction is expected to commence following final planning approvals, with the resort targeting an opening in late 2028.
