The building’s design incorporates timber from both Finland and Sweden, blending modern architectural elements with traditional materials. Key features of the structure include its visible timber framework, solar panels, and a green rooftop. Additionally, the building boasts a central atrium with a birch forest and advanced flood protection capable of handling water levels rising over three meters.

Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4, located within Katajanokan Laituri, is dedicated to sustainability and is pursuing top environmental certifications such as LEED Platinum, Green Key, and Sustainable Travel Finland. The hotel offers 164 rooms, including 43 with breathtaking sea views, and amenities that include a seaside café, conference rooms, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Helsinki’s Market Square.
