Accor has inked a deal to establish its maiden presence in Tajikistan. The upcoming Swissôtel, boasting 243 rooms within an 18-story building in the heart of Dushanbe, is slated to open its doors in 2028. The new hotel in Dushanbe will offer two restaurants, a café, a rooftop bar, conference facilities, and a ballroom.
This strategic move is part of Accor’s broader expansion in Eastern Europe and the “New East.” In 2022, the Accor family signed a total of 47 agreements in the region, encompassing Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Additionally, the expansion reached Central Asia, notably Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Romania witnessed the most significant influx of Accor properties, with eight new hotels, followed by seven in Uzbekistan, six in Hungary, five in Poland, and four in Georgia. In total, the number of signed properties in these regions amounted to 5,476 rooms.
