Russia Called Off Space Salon MAKS-2023

Russia refused to hold the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS – 2023 in Zhukovsky near Moscow.

This was reported by the Russian state agency TASS with reference to a source in the event’s organizing committee.

“MAKS will not take place this year. It is scheduled for 2024,” said the interlocutor of the agency, clarifying that the final decision will be made on May 25.

The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) has been held in Russia since 1993 every two years. The exhibition is dedicated to the demonstration of Russian technologies and is the largest aviation exhibition in Eastern Europe and one of the largest public events in Russia.

It should be noted that Russian aircraft manufacturers were actively preparing for this exhibition this summer – at the end of April, the United Aircraft Corporation of the state “Rostech” presented specially painted MS-21 and SSJ-100 aircraft for participation in the exhibition. The Russian manufacturer called the use of locally produced paint for applying new liveries one of the features of these aircraft.
