Uzbek carrier Centrum Air has launched regular flights between Tashkent and Krasnodar, strengthening air connectivity between Uzbekistan and southern Russia while providing passengers with additional international travel options.
The airline operated its inaugural service to Krasnodar Airport on 17 June, becoming the latest foreign carrier to enter the market. The new route will initially be operated once a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, with plans to increase frequencies in the future.
The launch marks a significant development for Krasnodar Airport as it continues to expand its network of international airline partners and restore connectivity on key regional routes.
New Connections Through Tashkent
Passengers travelling from Krasnodar will benefit from Centrum Air’s growing route network through its Tashkent hub, offering onward connections to destinations across Asia and the Middle East.
The airline said the new service is designed to improve travel opportunities between the two countries while supporting both business and leisure demand.
“The arrival of a new foreign carrier is an important event for Krasnodar Airport and our passengers,” said Alexander Nikonov, Deputy General Director for Commercial Activities at Aerodinamika Holding.
He noted that Tashkent remains one of the airport’s most popular international destinations and that the addition of another airline on the route will provide travellers with greater choice while strengthening transport links between Russia’s Krasnodar region and Uzbekistan.
Popular Route Returns To Growth
The Tashkent-Krasnodar market has historically been one of the airport’s strongest international routes.
Between 2013 and 2022, more than 1,200 flights were operated on the route, carrying approximately 284,000 passengers. During that period, Tashkent consistently ranked among the five most popular international destinations served from Krasnodar.
Centrum Air joins Russian carrier Azimuth on the route. Azimuth currently operates flights between Krasnodar and Tashkent twice per week.
Expanding International Presence
The new Krasnodar service continues Centrum Air’s expansion strategy as the Uzbek airline grows its presence across regional and international markets.
With Tashkent increasingly developing as a regional transit hub, the new route is expected to attract passengers travelling not only between Russia and Uzbekistan but also those connecting onward to destinations throughout Asia and the Middle East.
