The Moldovan airline, Air Moldova, has announced that the suspension of flights and ticket sales has been extended until June 16 due to financial problems. Since March 2, the Moldovan carrier has canceled over two dozen flights, citing operational and financial issues.
The company had to cancel 46 flights from April 21 to 25. In response to this, the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova conducted an unscheduled inspection of Air Moldova and mandated the company to compensate passengers for the canceled flights. The company has sought court approval for restructuring in order to attract investors. Flights and ticket sales have been suspended since May 2, with expectations of resuming operations in the second half of May.
