Starting from August 15, 2023, the validity period of the Vietnam e-visa will be extended from the current 30 days to 90 days. The duration of visa-free stays will also be increased.
For citizens of countries with visa exemption agreements with Vietnam, the duration of stay without a visa will be extended from the current 15 days to 45 days.
VIETNAM E-VISA BECOMES MULTIPLE ENTRY AND EXTENDED FROM AUGUST 15
The validity period of the Vietnam e-visa, which foreigners can obtain for entry into Vietnam, will be increased from 30 to 90 days according to the approved changes.
After obtaining an electronic visa, foreigners will be able to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times within 90 days without going through the process of obtaining a new visa.
Currently, the Vietnam e-visa issued to foreigners is valid only once. Vietnam grants electronic visas to citizens of 80 countries. In the first five months of 2023, Vietnam received 4.6 million foreign visitors, which accounts for more than half of the annual target of eight million, but still represents only 63% of the pre-pandemic level.
