Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows Unveils Island Tower

In a nod to its roots, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows is set to welcome a new landmark: the Island Tower. According to Disney officials, this addition pays homage to the original vision for the deluxe-level Polynesian resort, which included plans for a striking tower.

Anticipation is building as the Disney Vacation Club property at Walt Disney World Resort gears up for its grand opening this December. The Island Tower, standing tall at 10 stories, promises breathtaking views of the Seven Seas Lagoon from many of its well-appointed rooms, catering to groups ranging from two to nine guests.

Variety is the hallmark of the accommodations, with options including duo studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and the debut of two-bedroom penthouse villas—a luxurious new offering for guests. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by custom exterior designs, such as a captivating interpretation of a manta ray—a fitting emblem of the resort’s Pacific-inspired ambiance.

Stepping into the lobby, guests will be immersed in an enchanting display of artistry, with the ceiling adorned by an intricate art installation featuring panels depicting the vibrant wildlife of Polynesian islands. Collaborating closely with Walt Disney Imagineering, over a dozen artists have contributed to the property’s aesthetic, showcasing sculptures crafted from recycled fishing nets and walls adorned with preserved moss—a testament to Disney’s commitment to conservation.

Each piece of artwork, Disney assures, is infused with the spirit of preservation and celebrates the diverse cultures of Polynesia, enriching the guest experience with a tapestry of stories and traditions.

Excitement is building as Island Tower reservations are set to open to the public on June 6. However, Disney Vacation Club members and Walt Disney World annual passholders will enjoy a special privilege, with early access to reservations on June 4 and 5, respectively. As anticipation mounts, eager travelers are preparing to embark on a journey that promises not just luxury, but a heartfelt homage to the timeless charm of Disney’s Polynesian heritage.
