Thai Airways to Resume Flights to Russia

Thai Airways is discussing the resumption of direct flights to Russia. Flights could begin by the start of the high tourist season, said Chiravadee Khansab, Executive Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, as reported by Interfax.

“Thai Airways has a plan to restore its entire international network, primarily its European routes. The airline already operates flights to some cities, such as Frankfurt and Stockholm. Flights to Brussels and Milan will resume from July 1st. Representatives of Thai Airways are currently frequent visitors to Moscow and are negotiating the resumption of flights this year,” she said at a press conference in Moscow.

Khansab noted that the main problem is the lack of aircraft, as the airline disposed of part of its fleet during the coronavirus pandemic.

Thai Airways suspended flights to Moscow from Bangkok four years ago due to the coronavirus pandemic.
