A passenger who had missed her flight decided to dash onto the runway of the airport in an attempt to catch missed flight.
Eyewitnesses say she was clearly convinced that she could make it to the flight. The woman sprinted past security and descended onto the runway to try and stop the QantasLink flight departing from Canberra to Adelaide. In the published footage, you can see the passenger on the tarmac, attempting to flag down the pilot as if she were hailing a taxi. Bystanders were stunned by her audacious stunt and didn’t know how to react.
As a result, the pilot shut down the engines, and the Australian Federal Police apprehended the trespasser. Due to the incident, all flights at the airport were delayed by 10 minutes.
