ICAO Declares “Substantial Concerns” in the Field of Russian Aviation Security

The International Civil Aviation Organization has stated that there are concerns related to ensuring flight safety in Russia. Russian aviation dismissed any concerns about flight safety.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) claims that there is a significant and still unresolved problem in the field of flight safety in Russia. This is stated in the closed bulletin of the organization dated June 15. RBC has a copy of the document, its authenticity was confirmed by ICAO spokesman Anthony Philbin.

We are talking about the fact that Russian aircraft are registered in the register of civil aircraft in more than one country, and therefore there is a problem of the validity of licenses for their radio equipment and airworthiness certificates in general.

If the Russian authorities do not deal with this problem by September 14, information about “significant security concerns” will become public, follows from the text of the ICAO bulletin. Then Russia will join Eritrea and Bhutan, where problems with ensuring flight safety have been officially declared.
