Europe has been cautioned about a significant risk of terrorist attacks during the Christmas holidays. In a statement, the EU Commissioner did not provide any specific details regarding information that could have prompted the warning. The ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian organization Hamas has led to the anticipation of a “huge risk of terrorist attacks” in the coming days, as warned by the European Union Commissioner for Home Affairs.
According to RFI, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson specifically alerted that such attacks might occur during the Christmas festivities. Johansson, whose responsibilities include security and immigration matters, stated that the European Commission will allocate an additional 30 million euros to enhance security in vulnerable areas across the bloc, particularly in places housing significant religious landmarks.
