Cabify Buys 110 Tesla to Decarbonize Its Fleet in Spain

Cabify has just purchased 110 Tesla vehicles to continue with its fleet decarbonization plan which are added to the 40 cars of that brand with which it operated until now. The company has set a goal for 100% of trips to be made in electric vehicles or with other zero-emission technologies by 2025. As a result, one in four vehicles will have a zero label before the end of the year, which includes 100 cars. % electric, plug-in hybrids, and hydrogen.

The purchase is part of an investment of 8 million euros that the company has just made for the purchase of 196 cars in total, all of them electric, and which will be incorporated into the fleet of Vecttor, a subsidiary of Cabify.

In addition to the Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD, vehicles from the Kia, Citroën, and Hyundai brands will be incorporated into the platform. All of them are 100% electric, zero-emission vehicles, with a range in urban use of more than 400 kilometers and technical characteristics and sizes suitable for transporting passengers. According to the company’s estimates, the incorporation of these cars, which will be carried out before the end of the year, will avoid the emission of 1,700 tons of CO2 per year and the consumption of more than one million liters of fuel.

In the last year, the company has reduced total travel emissions in Spain despite the increase in the volume of journeys in this period, a milestone has been reached for the first time in its history. This is explained by an 11% reduction in average CO2/km emissions with the incorporation of sustainable vehicles and also by new applications and technologies.
