British Tourist Hospitalized After Shark Attack in Trinidad and Tobago

A British tourist has been hospitalized after a shark attack at one of the beaches in Trinidad and Tobago, reports Sky News.

The 64-year-old British tourist was on vacation in Trinidad and Tobago when a shark attacked him near the Starfish Resort. The predator assaulted the tourist in shallow waters, and he managed to fend it off. However, the traveler had to be hospitalized with serious injuries to his arm, thigh, and abdomen.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago House of Assembly, the tourist was attacked by a bull shark measuring 8-10 feet.

As noted by the portal, the incident prompted the government to close seven beaches and a marine park along the northwest coast of the Caribbean island.

Bull sharks are considered one of the most aggressive species and pose a danger to humans. They inhabit tropical and subtropical waters in all oceans.
