Montage Hotels Expands Into Egypt With New Luxury Ras El Hekma Resort

Montage Hotels & Resorts and Abu Dhabi-based Modon Holding have announced plans to launch the new Montage Ras El Hekma resort on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.

The project will introduce the first Montage-branded hotel and branded residences in Egypt as part of the rapidly expanding Ras El Hekma coastal development.

The luxury resort will include 200 hotel rooms and suites alongside 96 branded private residences designed for ownership.

Luxury Resort To Include Residences And Wellness Facilities

The development aims to combine high-end hospitality with residential living focused on lifestyle, wellness and beachfront experiences.

Facilities planned for the resort include swimmable beachfront lagoons, six dining venues, retail outlets and a spa featuring 13 treatment rooms.

The project will also feature event spaces, large outdoor leisure areas and a dedicated Owners’ Clubhouse for residents and guests.

The residential component, known as Montage Residences Ras El Hekma, will be located within the Wadi Yemm district and will include 96 villas ranging from three to six bedrooms.

Montage Makes Egypt Debut

The Ras El Hekma project marks the official debut of the Montage Hotels & Resorts brand in Egypt.

Both companies indicated that the partnership could potentially expand into additional Modon destinations in the future.

Montage currently operates six luxury properties across the United States and Mexico, with further developments underway in destinations including the Bahamas, Punta Mita and Valle de Guadalupe.

Modon Holding Group Chief Executive Bill O’Regan said the partnership aligns closely with the long-term vision for Ras El Hekma.

“Montage Hotels & Resorts are renowned for serving affluent travellers and homeowners, delivering an elevated guest experience and a commitment to refined living while remaining authentic to their surroundings,” O’Regan said.

Part Of Egypt’s Massive $35 Billion Coastal Development

Montage Ras El Hekma forms part of the wider $35 billion Ras El Hekma masterplan, one of the largest tourism and infrastructure developments currently underway in the Mediterranean region.

The full project spans approximately 170.8 million square metres and is expected to attract around $110 billion in investment by 2045.

Plans for the destination include cultural attractions such as the Ras El Hekma Lighthouse and a 10,000-seat amphitheatre.

Major Infrastructure Expansion Planned

The development is being designed as a large-scale international tourism and residential hub with integrated transport infrastructure.

Future plans include an international airport, high-speed rail connections, major highways, marinas and a cruise terminal.

Once fully completed, Ras El Hekma is projected to contribute approximately $25 billion annually to Egypt’s GDP while creating an estimated 750,000 jobs.

The project reflects Egypt’s growing focus on luxury tourism, coastal real estate and international investment along the Mediterranean coastline.
