Aman at Sea Unveils Amangati’s First Mediterranean Voyages for 2027

On Wednesday 21 January, Aman at Sea announced the inaugural itineraries for its first deep-sea yacht, Amangati, marking a significant step in the expansion of the Aman universe beyond land-based resorts. The first voyages are scheduled for spring 2027 and will focus on the Mediterranean, positioning culture, architectural heritage and landmark events at the heart of the experience.

The routes have been designed to trace some of the region’s most storied coastlines, from the Roman legacy of the Dalmatian coast to the Moorish heritage of southern Spain, passing through the French Riviera with calls at rarely accessible ports such as Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Selected itineraries will coincide with major international events, including the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix, allowing guests to combine sailing with front-row access to the Mediterranean’s social calendar.

Among the standout experiences is a rare transit through Venice’s Grand Canal, an increasingly restricted privilege that underscores the yacht’s positioning at the very top end of the market. Voyages will last between five and eight nights and will be supported by a high degree of operational flexibility, with two heliports and six tenders enabling highly customised shore visits and private excursions.

Measuring 180 metres in length across nine decks, Amangati is being built with a deliberately limited capacity of just 94 guests. The yacht will feature 47 suites, all exceptionally spacious, with the largest reaching 354 square metres. This reduced density reflects a clear strategic choice by Aman to prioritise privacy and exclusivity over volume, placing Amangati in direct competition with established players such as Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Four Seasons Yachts, both of which operate vessels with significantly higher passenger counts.

The yacht is under construction at the Genoa-based shipyard T. Mariotti, a specialist in high-end and complex vessels, with exterior and interior design by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. One of Amangati’s signature features will be its spa, covering 1,190 square metres, making it the largest wellness space in its segment and reinforcing Aman’s long-standing focus on holistic wellbeing.

No pricing has yet been announced for the 2027 itineraries. By way of comparison, industry sources estimate that similar voyages aboard Four Seasons Yachts could range from $20,000 to $60,000 for five to seven nights, depending on destination and season.

Beyond the launch itself, Amangati represents a strategic growth lever for Aman. The yacht is conceived as a fully integrated experiential platform, combining accommodation, gastronomy, wellness, medical spa services, culture and entertainment. This hybrid model sits somewhere between ultra-luxury hospitality, premium cruising and private superyachting, reflecting a broader shift within the sector.

The luxury cruise market has expanded rapidly over the past decade, with global capacity more than tripling since 2010. It is forecast to reach 1.5 million travellers by 2028 and to be valued at nearly £14.6 billion by 2032, up from £5.3 billion in 2022. Against this backdrop, Aman’s move into the maritime space aligns with a wider trend among high-end hotel groups seeking new avenues for growth.

With Amangati, Aman is reinforcing what many analysts describe as the rise of the ultra-experience economy. After extending its brand into wellness, fragrances, fashion, interiors and lifestyle products, the group is now anchoring its ecosystem at sea, gradually transforming Aman into a fully integrated global platform that extends far beyond traditional luxury hotels.
