The six-bedroom villa becomes the first completed residence within a planned development of 12 private Aman-branded homes located across the Grand Staircase-Escalante region.
Private Desert Retreat Spans Nine Acres
The new residence occupies nine acres of remote desert terrain approximately half a mile west of the main Amangiri resort.
The property measures around 1,115 square metres and includes expansive indoor and outdoor living areas designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding sandstone landscape.
Future residences within the development will range between five and 19 acres in size.
Architecture Designed To Disappear Into Landscape
The villa was designed by Marwan Al Sayed of Los Angeles-based Masastudio, one of the original architects behind Amangiri when the resort opened in 2009.
The design follows the same philosophy that made Amangiri internationally recognised for its ability to merge almost invisibly into Utah’s ancient rock formations.
Al Sayed described the residence as a sanctuary shaped by stone, wind and water, with spaces carefully composed around shifting desert light and shadow.
Luxury Features Include Spa And Lap Pool
The property includes a principal suite with a private courtyard and heated plunge pool alongside five additional guest bedrooms.
A 36-metre lap pool is integrated directly into the desert topography, while additional amenities include a private spa, steam room, sauna and fitness studio overlooking sandstone cliffs.
Outdoor loggia pavilions extend from the main living and dining areas to create continuous connections between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.
Design Inspired By Navajo Philosophy And Desert Colours
At the centre of the home, architects created a large skylight designed to draw natural desert light through the villa during the day while framing the night sky after sunset.
The design concept was partly inspired by a traditional Navajo prayer focused on harmony with the surrounding environment.
Masastudio co-founder Mies Anderson also drew material inspiration from the region’s dunes and sandstone formations, using pale whites, neutrals, gold tones and black accents throughout the interiors.
Aman Expands Private Residence Strategy
The Amangiri residences reflect Aman’s broader expansion into branded private real estate linked to its global ultra-luxury hospitality portfolio.
Luxury hospitality groups increasingly view branded residences as one of the fastest-growing sectors within high-end travel and real estate.
The new development strengthens Amangiri’s position as one of the most exclusive luxury destinations in the American Southwest.
Utah Continues Growing Luxury Tourism Market
Utah’s desert regions have seen rising interest from luxury travellers seeking remote wellness escapes, architecture-led hospitality and nature-focused experiences.
The Grand Staircase-Escalante region remains one of the most visually distinctive landscapes in the United States, attracting visitors interested in desert tourism, outdoor adventure and secluded luxury retreats.
