Air France-KLM and SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) have announced a major expansion of their commercial partnership, strengthening transatlantic connectivity and delivering a more seamless travel experience for passengers flying between Scandinavia and the United States. The move highlights the airlines’ commitment to improving convenience, flexibility, and loyalty benefits for their customers.
As part of the agreement, Air France will now place its code on SAS-operated nonstop flights to key U.S. destinations. This new codeshare arrangement allows travelers to access a broader network via Scandinavian hubs, while enjoying the benefits of integrated booking and loyalty programs.
The new routes available under the expanded codeshare include flights from Copenhagen to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York (JFK and Newark), San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. From Stockholm, passengers can book nonstop services to Miami and Newark, while Oslo travelers gain access to New York’s JFK and Newark airports. Reservations are already open through the airlines’ websites and all distribution channels.
This development builds on the cooperation that began in 2024 and has rapidly evolved. In September, SAS officially joined the SkyTeam alliance, co-founded by Air France-KLM. Since then, the partnership has grown to include reciprocal codeshares across European and long-haul routes, as well as shared loyalty perks.
Passengers booking these new codeshare flights can earn Flying Blue miles and XP (experience points) toward their status, while SAS-operated flights are also eligible for Flying Blue reward tickets, subject to availability.
With this expansion, Air France-KLM and SAS reaffirm their shared vision of offering travelers more choice, greater connectivity, and enhanced benefits, while further solidifying their position in the competitive transatlantic market.
