SAS Announces Record-Breaking Summer 2026 Program with 9 New Routes

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has unveiled its largest-ever summer schedule for 2026, introducing nine new routes, six new destinations, and significantly increasing connectivity across Europe, North America, and Asia. The move reinforces Copenhagen’s role as Scandinavia’s global hub and reflects SAS’ long-term strategy of connecting the Nordic region with the world.

Seat capacity from Copenhagen will grow by 20 percent compared with summer 2025, resulting in 50 percent more connecting opportunities. With more destinations and frequencies than in any previous summer program, the schedule blends high-frequency business routes with leisure travel options, offering travelers greater flexibility and smoother connections.

The announcement comes as SAS continues to rank among the most punctual airlines globally, topping both Europe and the world in on-time performance across multiple months in the past year.

“We are excited to present our largest summer program in SAS’ history, which reflects the strong momentum we’re having as a company,” said Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS. “With two more Airbus A350s, more destinations, and better connectivity than ever before, we’re offering our customers an unmatched level of choice and flexibility. This expansion underscores our ambition to grow, to further strengthen Copenhagen as Scandinavia’s global hub, and to provide our customers with reliable, world-class punctual travel on a broader scale.”

More flights, longer seasons

Several seasonal routes will now run throughout the full summer, including Copenhagen–Ålesund, Copenhagen–Edinburgh, and Copenhagen–Thessaloniki. Frequency will also increase on more than 30 existing routes.

From Copenhagen, travelers will see more departures to destinations such as Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Krakow, Prague, Seoul, Tallinn, and Tokyo. Stockholm will gain additional flights to Brussels, Dublin, Paris, and Vaasa, while Oslo will benefit from increased frequencies to Brussels, Dublin, and Reykjavik.
